Gretchen Kaye is an artist living in Melbourne. Mystery, narrative and movement are the main themes of her work. Her main medium is oil on canvas and her style is described as abstract realism.

In her first solo exhibition, titled The Portable Park, at Fortyfive Downstairs Art Gallery Melbourne, Kaye, who lives inner city, focussed on the far reaching effect of tranquility, which the local park offers to the community. She believes that everything we see is viewed through our personal layers of memory and what the artist creates reminds us of what we already know.
